Emergency Resolution 2 had passed at the JACL National Convention.
ER2 is the resolution advocating for transgender equality and pledging
that JACL will be a “vibrant ally to the transgender community.” When
the notification came through, my son, Aiden, and I were on the phone
discussing how he could go down to the convention to lend his support.
He was in Las Vegas with his wife, Mary, for a few days of vacation.
